The goal of Maze Ablaze is to keep the fire from reaching the barrel for as long as possible. There are 3 different worlds, each with their own aesthetic, set of levels, and new block types. The longer you can hold out in a level, the higher your score and ranking!

About the Project

Maze Ablaze is the debut title of Elsewhere Games (originally from Gainesville and currently based in New York)! It's a puzzle game where things can heat up fast as you try to prevent the flame from reaching the barrel in the center of the screen. In my freshman year of college upon arriving to UF, I met the studio head within a month of my arrival. I was looking to push myself and expand my pixel art and animation skills, and he needed an artist; the rest of the story is the year of development we spent on the project over the fall and spring semesters.

This game was my first major group collaboration. The director pushed me to dream big and draw bigger, and as I helped realize his vision for the game, it became my vision too. The development of Maze Ablaze set the tone for my commitment to excellence in future group projects and development teams.
